On this workshop, you will learn how to protect your domain name with DNSSEC and thereby prevent attacks by hackers.
DNSSEC is a security service available in the DNS. The service was developed to prevent hackers from modifying the name server process (DNS) and take control of a domain name.
DNSSEC is relevant to every organization – both small and large, who all should be concerned about phishing attacks and false redirects. The main focus of the course is how to sign your domain name with DNSSEC keys.
The course is held physically, but it is also possible to participate remotely.
Jakob Schlyter is an IT security advisor at Swedish Kirei, working with information security. Jakob has been actively involved in DNSSEC since 1999 and is one of the world's leading experts in the field. He also has broad experience in system and protocol design, IPv6 and encryption.
09.00-10.15: DNS recap & crypto 101
10.45-12.00: Practical planning of your DNSSEC policies and signing of zones
12.00-13.00: Lunch break
13.00-14.00: Key replacement - manual and automatic and system administration, backup, logging and monitoring
14:15-16.30: DNSSEC lab using Knot
Prerequisites: Knowledge of DNS. The lab is executed in a virtual Linux environment and requires basic system administration skills.
The workshop is open to anyone, who works with IT security and has a technical background. The level is intermediate and advanced. The course is held in English.
