If you need to change details regarding your domain name, you can do this in our online self-service portal.

For example, you can:

  • Pay your invoices
  • Delete your domain name
  • Update your contact information

If your website or e-mail address is not working, it may be because we have suspended your domain name. The most common reason for doing this is that we have not received payment for registration of the domain name.

You can easily get your website or e-mail address up and working again by restoring the domain name in our online self-service portal. The restoration fee is DKK 125 per domain name.

A domain name can be suspended for three months. If it is not restored within three months, we delete the registration of the domain name.

Validation means that DK Hostmaster compares the name and address information provided to DK Hostmaster with the information listed in the Danish National Register of Persons/Companies.

The name and address information of registrants with a Danish address is validated by checking the above-mentioned registers at the time a domain name is created. This way, we are certain that all contact information for our registrants is accurate.

Once your information is validated, you do not have to update your address information anywhere else than in the Danish National Register of Persons/Companies. However, you must still keep your other contact information, such as your e-mail address, up to date.

Through a contact form in our WHOIS database, you may request to be contacted by the registrant, the proxy or the name server manager of a domain name.

Do the following:

  1. Enter the desired domain name in WHOIS
  2. State in the contact form whether you want contact with the registrant, proxy or name server manager
  3. Enter your email address.

DK Hostmaster now sends your contact information to the registrant, proxy or name server manager to the email address they have specified. Then they must initiate the contact with you.

DK Hostmaster solely sends the email. We do no further if there are problems with the email address of the registrant, proxy or name server manager.

If a domain name is not restored within three months of the date of suspension, we delete the domain name.

If you no longer want to use your domain name, you should delete the domain name. You can easily do this in our online self-service portal.

Others will then be able to register the domain name.

You must transfer the domain name if you want to give the domain name to another person.

Please note, that there is a fee of 50.00 DKK to accept the transfer of a domain name and become the new registrant (per 1 January 2019).

If you want to change to a different webhotel (name server provider), your domain name must be moved to a different name server.

Contact your new webhotel, who in most cases can transfer the domain name to the correct name servers.

After you have created the domain name by the new provider, you can also change the name servers yourself in our online self-service portal. Read more about how to change a domain name's name server.

 

If you delete your domain name before the end of the registration period, you can get the remaining period fee refunded if:

  • Your registration period is longer than 1 year (2, 3 or 5 years)
  • Your registration period has not yet begun

If the registration period has begun, there will be a 5-month period where the fee can not be refunded. If the period has not yet begun, the entire amount will be refunded.

Notification

You will receive an email from DK Hostmaster if you can have a period fee refunded. In the email you will be asked to log in to our self-service with username and password. Here you can enter your bank details.
