Today we launch the tool sikkerpånettet.dk, which helps you check whether your website, your e-mail server and internet connection are up to date and secure.
Specifically, Sikkerpånettet.dk investigates whether modern and reliable standards are used on your website, your e-mail server and Internet connection, and on that basis provides a percentage on how high the security is.
It has been our focus to create a tool that is more than just a test. It should also provide knowledge on how to work on making a website or email server a little more secure.
You are responsible
Sikkerpånettet.dk is mainly aimed at companies, organizations and associations that use a domain name for a website or a mail server. That is, a domain name that has user and customer traffic.
It is you as the domain owner who is responsible for the security of the domain name - both for your own, but also for the sake of your users.
Every year, up to 50% of danish companies in are exposed to hacker attacks, which can have large financial costs for both companies and customers. So, it pays to do something about it.
Det er nemlig dig som domæneindehaver, der har ansvaret for sikkerheden på domænenavnet - både for din egen, men også for dine brugeres skyld.
The test covers the most important aspects and leans on the National Recommendations from Center for Cyber Security. By doing something about what the test shows, you can help make the Danish part of the Internet more secure. The test shows the results on a scale up to 100%. It is important to remember that there may be relevant reasons for not landing at 100%. As with so much else when it comes to security, it is a trade-off of accessibility and security.
Who are behind sikkerpånettet?
Sikkerpånettet.dk has been developed by DK Hostmaster in collaboration with Danish Business Authority, Center for Cyber Security, Confederation of Danish Industry, The Danish Chamber of Commerce, eMærket, PwC, Council for digital security, SMVdanmark, The Danish Consumer Council and Agency for Digitisation as part of the work to promote internet development in Denmark.
If you are a domain owner, take a moment to take the test, and get guidance on what you can do to contribute to a safer internet.
