A larger proportion of the Danish domain names with the extension .dk have now become more secure, as the hosting company and name server provider One.com has signed all .dk domain names on their servers with DNSSEC.
DNSSEC is a security service that can be set up on a domain name so that web traffic is directed to the correct web address. A DNSSEC signed domain name ensures that you know who you are talking to on the Internet, and that the traffic is not changed, while you do so.
15% more domain names with DNSSEC
In the resent month, the share of DNSSEC-signed .dk domain names has thus increased from just under 2% to now 17%. In numbers, this means that more than 220.000 .dk domain names are now signed.
We see a tendency among several of the registrars of .dk domain names, where they have begun to sign all the domain names handled on their servers. One.com is one of the big registrars in the forefront of this, and we would like to commend them for that.
Security on the Internet is very important to us in DK Hostmaster, and we can only encourage all those who can contribute to make use of the Internet as secure as possible. We are therefore very pleased with One.com's efforts with the increased DNSSEC signing.
