DK Hostmaster has suspended two more .dk domain names in cases that are identical to a case from 7 April, where there was a serious risk of phishing and confusion with e-Boks and NemID. The suspension was implemented a legal ability stated in terms of the right of use of a .dk domain name. Read more here.
This may indicate that there are systematic attempts to use .dk domain names for fraud with e-Boks and NemID in progress. DK Hostmaster looks on the matter seriously, and will be aware of any complaints that may come in.
At the same time, we will encourage you to be extra careful if you receive a message from e-Boks and keep an eye on the sender and URL addresses.
DK Hostmaster's option for suspension of a domain name
As a provider of Internet infrastructure, DK Hostmaster does not have the option of suspending .dk domain names based on a complaint alone. However, DK Hostmaster may suspend and delete a .dk domain name after receiving a complaint clarifying that the following three points in the terms of the terms. 9.2 are met:
- The domain name is used in connection with obvious risk of financial crime, compromise of IT equipment, i.e., phishing and malware distribution, and / or content of a highly infringing nature, and
- The use of the domain name creates a risk of confusion with another natural or legal person's domain name, name, logo, trademark, or other characteristics, and
- the circumstances suggest not waiting for a decision from the Complaints Board for Domain Names or the courts.
