In 2020/21, DK Hostmaster will be making several changes to our registrar collaboration model.
As a registrar, we will need you to notice the following initiatives:
- DK Hostmaster is launching a new registrar model, giving registrars the option to manage a customer’s .dk domain name if the customer would prefer this. We call this registrar management. You can also choose to continue to allow the customer to manage their domain name themselves, as they do today. We call this registrant management. Read more here.
- From now on, it will be mandatory for all registrars to have a registrar account with DK Hostmaster. All of the registrar’s purchases from DK Hostmaster will be deducted from the registrar’s account. The account must therefore always be in credit. Read more here.
- A new registrar contract will come into effect as a basis for the new collaboration. All registrars must sign this new registrar contract and send it to DK Hostmaster. Read more here.
- If a registrar offers name server service the registrar will in future be obliged to offer DNSSEC signing. Registrars who do not offer name server service will be required to inform the customer where DNSSEC signing can be made. The obligation for DNSSEC signing follows a specific requirement in the new executive order on the administration of .dk domain names, which can be read here.
