Payment
If you got any questions about payment of your invoice from DK Hostmaster, or other questions about payment of a .dk domain, then read the frequently asked questions here.
If your website or e-mail address is not working, it may be because we have suspended your domain name. The most common reason for doing this is that we have not received payment for the domain name.
You can easily get your website or e-mail address up and working again by restoring the domain name in our online self-service portal. The restoration fee is DKK 125 per domain name.
If a domain name is not restored within 30 days of the date of suspension, we delete the domain name.
If you do not pay the domain fee for your domain name (DKK 70 per year), we will suspend the domain name. This means that your website or e-mail address will not work because we have taken it out of the .dk zone.

If you want to cancel the right to use a .dk domain name, you must do so via the self-service portal on DK Hostmaster’s website, se below how.
Once you have cancelled the domain name, it will be suspended on the date from which you wish the cancellation to apply. The domain name is deleted after 30 days’ suspension.
Please note, that the cancellation is associated with a fee. See the current price in our price list.
- If the cancellation fee exceeds a possible receivable, the remaining cancellation fee does not have to be paid.
- If you have received an invoice for the domain name you want to cancel, you do not need to pay it.
When you cancel the registration of a domain name, it will afterwards be free to register for others.
Step 1
Choose "Cancel domain name" in the drop-down menu in the "Manage" column.
PLEASE NOTE! If you wish to cancel more than one domain name, you can find it under "Manage multiple domain names" in the bottom of the screen.
Step 2
Select the date you wish the domain name to be cancelled. Press CONTINUE.
Step 3
Choose CONFIRM to cancel the domain name.
PLEASE NOTE! If you are only the proxy of the domain name, the registrant must confirm the cancellation of the domain name before it can be carried out. The registrant will receive a request pr. email.
No. If you have received an invoice but have since cancelled one or more of the domain names specified on the invoice, we will send you a credit note.

If you want to sign up for direct debit service (Betalingsservice) (DKK 8.75 per invoice), you can change your payment settings on our self-service portal under PAYMENT AND INVOICES > Edit payment settings.
You can also sign up directly in your online bank. Betalingsservice will then notify DK Hostmaster of your change.
Please note that open invoices issued before you sign up for Betalingsservice must be paid manually.
NOTE! Companies must always sign up for Betalingsservice using online banking and cannot use our self-service for this specific purpose.
You always have to unsubscribe from Betalingsservice in your online bank. After the cancellation, you will automatically receive your invoices from DK Hostmaster at the email address you have provided with us. This is free of charge, but be aware that payment must be done manually.
If you want to receive your invoices in e-Box, you must edit your payment settings in our self-service, where you can select this.
You must also make sure to register DK-Hostmaster in your e-Box, in your settings at e-Boks website.
If you want to unsubscribe from e-Box, and receive your invoices via another channel, this can also be changed on our self-service in your payment settings.
Yes, some providers offer this service.
Your provider can request to be the payer of your .dk domain name, when the first registration period expires, and the domain name must be renewed (typically after one year).
When your provider is the payer, you will not receive an invoice from DK Hostmaster.
It costs DKK 70 per year including VAT to have a .dk domain name.
This fee covers the costs of DK Hostmaster in connection with maintaining a database of all Danish domain names and upholding the Danish part of the internet’s infrastructure (DNS).
Unfortunately, the payment date of an already issued invoice cannot be changed.
If we have not received payment for your domain name before it expires, the domain name will be suspended.
You can subsequently restore the domain name if we receive payment of the renewal fee and a restore fee within 30 days of the domain name being suspended. This must be paid online with a credit card on our self-service portal.
PLEASE NOTE: If one or more domain names are suspended, a restore fee of DKK 125 is payable per suspended domain name. This fee is payable in addition to the original invoice.
If you want to change the billing contact, you should do so on our self-service portal. See how here.
The change will apply from the next invoice issued for the domain name.
Once an invoice has been issued, it is unfortunately not possible to change the billing contact until we have received payment for the invoice already sent.
